Barbara Staudinger

Director of the Jewish Museum Vienna

Dr. Barbara Staudinger, born in 1973 in Vienna, studied History, Theatre Studies, and Jewish Studies at the University of Vienna, earning her PhD in 2001. From 1998 to 2013, she was a research associate at the Institute for Jewish History in Austria (St. Pölten) and served as a curator at the Jewish Museum in Munich from 2005 to 2007. Between 2013 and 2018, she worked as a freelance curator in Vienna, including as a member of the curatorial team responsible for the redesign of the Austrian exhibition at the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial. From 2018 to 2022, she was the Director of the Jewish Museum Augsburg Swabia, and since July 2022, she has been the Director of the Jewish Museum Vienna.
