Paulus Hochgatterer

Paulus Hochgatterer (born 1961) is a child and adolescent psychiatrist and award-winning author. He grew up in Lower Austria, studied medicine and psychology at the University of Vienna and has been working as a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry and neurology since 1992, first at the Rosenhügel Neurological Centre in Vienna and later as head of the Institute for Educational Assistance in Vienna-Floridsdorf. Since 2007, he has been head of the Clinical Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University Hospital Tulln. 

Hochgatterer is known as the author of narrative works that reflect his professional experience as a psychiatrist and often focus on mentally ill people and outsiders. He is a member of the IG Autorinnen Autoren (Authors’ Association).
