
Tessa Szyszkowitz
Tessa Szyszkowitz (born December 22, 1967) is a journalist, author, and historian. She was a correspondent in Jerusalem (1994–1998), Brussels (1998–2002), and Moscow (2002–2010), and has lived in London since then. Her dissertation at the University of Vienna appeared under the title Trauma and Terror – on Palestinian and Chechen nationalism (2007); in further books she dealt with Middle East and Russian politics. Her most recent book was published in 2018: True Britons, Britain and Brexit. Szyszkowitz writes a World column for the Wiener weekly Falter and reports on British, European, and international politics from London for Falter and occasionally for NZZ am Sonntag, Tagesspiegel, The Guardian. She comments on European politics in British media such as Monocle Radio and BBC and on British politics in Ö1 or ZIB 2. She is a curator at the Bruno Kreisky Forum for International Politics and a Distinguished Fellow at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) in London.
